Conference 2024
The seventh TA Teachers Conference Lessons for Teaching Thinking will take place in a virtual format in August - September 2024.
This year we would like to invite participants to discuss approaches to organising lessons that help learners become better thinkers. We invite you to investigate the topic from various angles:
- characteristics of a thinking lesson
- the role of the teacher in a thinking lesson
- teaching and learning materials supporting a thinking lesson
- etc.
We encourage teacher participants to submit their unit plans and syllabi used for the development of thinking skills for their discussion at the conference.
This year we would like to continue with the format first tried during the 2022 conference. We ask all the speakers to provide their input before the conference using a variety of online presentation options. The conference will then include two phases:
- Phase 1. 25 Aug - 5 Sept. Familiarisation with conference materials, initial questions and discussions. Asynchronous, online.
- Phase 2. 6 - 7 Sept. In-depth discussion of the conference materials, reflection and practical online workshops. Synchronous, online (specific time will be specified later, we envisage two 3 h long sessions for each language track)
We continue to offer the conference programme in two languages (English and Russian) to make it accessible to a wider group of education professionals. We expect some overlap between the tracks, but the programme is generally different. The participants will be able to follow one or both tracks.
