Conference report
The sixth TA Teachers Conference, Towards Thinking Curriculum took place in the virtual format in August, 2022. This year a different format was chosen for running the event to make it more productive. The participants were asked to provide their input before the conference using a variety of online presentation options. The conference then include two phases:
Phase 1. Aug 15 - 25. Familiarisation with conference materials, initial questions and discussions. Asynchronous, online.
Phase 2. Aug 26 - 31. In-depth discussion of the conference materials, reflection and practical online workshops. Synchronous, online
The conference programme was offered in two languages: English and Russian. Although there was some overlap between the tracks, the programme was generally different and some participants chose to follow both tracks.
The English track included 10 and the Russian track 17 presentations. Each presenter had shared their presentation and supporting materials on a specially designed padlet board. All the participants were invited to access the boards from 15 to 29 August, asked questions and participated in the discussions. The synchronous online part took place on 29-31 August and it was built upon the results of participants' interaction. Altogether the participants had an opportunity to interact with colleagues from 11 countries. The conference attracted about 80 participants from various parts of the world. It is possible to purchase access to recordings of conference sessions.
Most delegates were satisfied with the new format of the conference and plan to attend the next TA Teachers conference either virtually or face-to-face. The conference is planned for August-September 2024. You can pre-register your interest here.
