'But she ____________________(have) a prize herself, you know,' said the Mouse.
2. 'Your hair wants cutting,' said the Hatter. He had been looking at Alice for some time with great curiosity, and this was his first speech.
'You _____________(learn) not to make personal remarks,' Alice said with some severity; 'it's very rude.'
3. 'We _____________(burn) the house down!' said the Rabbit's voice; and Alice called out as loud as she could, 'If you do. I'll set Dinah at you!'
4. 'If you knew Time as well as I do,' said the Hatter, 'you wouldn't talk about wasting IT. It's HIM.'
'I don't know what you mean,' said Alice.
'Of course you don't!' the Hatter said. 'I dare say you never even spoke to Time!'
'Perhaps not,' Alice replied: 'but I know I _____________(beat) time when I learn music.'
'Ah!' said the Hatter. ‘If you only kept on good terms with him, he'd do almost anything you liked with the clock. For instance, suppose it were nine o'clock in the morning, just time to begin lessons: you'd only _________________(whisper) a hint to Time, and round goes the clock in a twinkling! Half-past one, time for dinner!'
5. 'Here! you may nurse it a bit, if you like!' the Duchess said to Alice, flinging the baby at her as she spoke. 'I ______________(go) and get ready to play croquet with the Queen,' and she hurried out of the room.
6. Do you think I ______________(dye) my hair or I _________________(leave) it as it is?
7. Before she had drunk half the bottle, she found her head pressing against the ceiling, and ___________(stoop) to save her neck from being broken. She went on growing, and growing, and very soon ___________(kneel) down on the floor: in another minute there was not even room for this, and she tried the effect of lying down with one elbow against the door, and the other arm curled round her head.
